Detailed Itinerary
Each day is crafted for immersive exploration and relaxation:
Day 1 – Airport – Negombo
After your arrival at Sri Lanka’s Bandaranayke International Airport, you will be met by your personal Chauffeur Guide. Start your tour with a limousine transfer to The Wallawwa, an award-winning boutique hotel set in 200-year-old tropical gardens with gourmet food, jungle pool, and heavenly spa carved out of an atmospheric 18th-century manor house. The Wallawwa is conveniently located not only for Colombo Airport but also for exploring the busy fishing town of Negombo.
Day 2 – Negombo – Private City Tour – Canal and Lagoon Boat Trip
In the middle of NEGOMBO stands the stately pink landmark of St Mary’s Church. A detour towards the sea runs past the harbor and the main fish market. visit the Muthurajawela Wetlands and enjoy a boat trip down the Hamilton Canal to the Negombo Lagoon, home to abundant birdlife and mangroves.
Day 3 – Negombo – Anuradhapura – Sacred Bo Tree – Sigiriya
Visit Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first capital, founded in 380 BC. See the Sri Maha Bodhi (Sacred Bo Tree), the oldest historically documented tree in the world. In the afternoon proceed to the Water Garden Hotel in Sigiriya where luxury meets nature surrounded by lakes & water streams.
Day 4 – Sigiriya – Lion Rock Fortress – Ancient Polonnaruwa
Rise early to beat the crowds at the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock – a UNESCO Heritage Site. In the afternoon, head to Polonnaruwa, the great ruined capital and one of the undisputed highlights of the Cultural Triangle.
Day 5 – Sigiriya – Dambulla Rock and Cave Temples – Udawattakele Sanctuary – Kandy
En-Route to Kandy, visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, a treasure-trove of Buddhist art. Explore the Udawattakele Nature Sanctuary, an enchanting forest reserve. Check into Kings Pavilion Hotel, Kandy.
Day 6 – Kandy City Tour
Explore Kandy, the last Sinhalese kingdom. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy Market, and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya with over 4000 flowers and plants.
Day 7 – Kandy – Ella Train Ride
Take the scenic train journey from Kandy to Ella, considered one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. Experience breathtaking views of lush green tea plantations, mountains, viaducts, valleys, and dense jungle. Overnight at 98 Acres Resort and Spa.
Day 8 – Ella Exploration (Days 8-10)
Enjoy the "Tea Story" tour to learn about tea production. Go biking through tea plantations or hiking to Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock. Visit Ravana Ella Falls.
Day 11 – Ella – South Coast – Tangalle (Days 11-14)
Travel to the South Coast beaches. Tangalle offers a peaceful retreat. Visit Yala National Park for wildlife safaris to spot leopards and elephants. Experience the Rekawa Turtle Watch, Whale Watching in Mirissa, and visit the sacred town of Kataragama or Sinharaja Rain Forest. Stay at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort.
Day 15 – Tangalle – Galle – Airport
