Detailed Itinerary
Each day is crafted for immersive exploration and relaxation:
Day 1 – Airport – Negombo Chilaw
Arrive at the Bandaranayke International Airport and transfer to your Beach Hotel in Negombo. In the late afternoon visit the MUNNESWARAM TEMPLE in Chilaw. Visit MANAVARI. Overnight at the Camelot Beach Hotel, Negombo.
Day 2 – Negombo – Dolukanda – Sigiriya
After breakfast leave for Sigiriya. On the way visit Dolukanda Sanjeewani Mountain. Proceed to Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock. Sigiriya is also a place related to the Ramayana. Overnight at the Kassapa Lions Rock Hotel, Sigiria.
Day 3 – Sigiriya – Trincomalee – Sigiriya
In the morning proceed to Trincomalee. Trincomalee holds a significant role in the religious and cultural history of Sri Lanka as it is home to the historical Thirukoneswaram Temple. Overnight at the Kassapa Lions Rock Hotel, Sigiriya.
Day 4 – Sigiriya – Sita Kotuwa – Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy. On the way, we stop for a visit to Sita Kotuwa. Once in Kandy you have the option to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Overnight at Suisse Hotel, Kandy.
Day 5 – Kandy – Ramboda – Seetha Amman Temple – Hakgala Botanical Garden – Seetha Eliya – Ella
In the morning leave for Ramboda. En route visit the Hanuman Temple. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Visit the Seetha Amman Temple and Hakgala Botanical Garden. Later leave for Ella. Overnight at Morning Dew Hotel Hotel, Ella.
Day 6 – Ella – Kataragama
Ella is a small picturesque mountain village and known for the Ravana Falls & Ravana Cave. Leave for Kataragama on the South Coast. On arrival visit the Kataragama Temple. Overnight at the Hibiscus Garden Hotel, Tissa.
Day 7 – Yala – Ussangoda – Rumansala (Unawatuna) – Colombo
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Ussangoda. Next, you will be visiting Rumansala. Atop the hill, there is a large glistening Buddhist dagoba popularly known as the peace pagoda. Overnight at the Pegasus Reef Hotel, Colombo.
Day 8 – Colombo – Kelaniya Temple – Airport
Among the most important and closest sites to Colombo connected to the Ramayana is the Kelani Raja Maha Viharaya or the Kelaniya Temple. Later transfer back to the airport for departure. End of Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour Package.
